Security Light

Security lights are available to all Scenic Rivers Energy Cooperative (SREC) members, subject to the established rules and regulations of the Cooperative.  We lease dusk to dawn, automatically-controlled, high-pressure sodium lights in 100 and 150 watts. 

Lights are normally installed on existing poles where electric service is available (with the exception of transformer or primary poles).  No member owned lights are allowed on SREC primary poles.  We can install the light on the member's pole but the wire has to be provided to the light.  When leasing a light it must be installed on a pole that the co-op determines is safe and easily accessible.  We will not install lights on buildings or other structures. 

We lease low voltage sodium lights to our members for a monthly fee of:

• 100 watt Sodium light - $11.75
• 150 watt Sodium light - $12.25
• Plus tax

The lease fee includes the installation and all maintenance of the light as well as the energy used by the light.  If you lease an existing mercury vapor light and the light goes bad, we will only replace it with a lower wattage sodium light.

Lineworkers must handle power line maintenance and repairs first:should your security light not work, it will be repaired in as timely a manner as possible.
